The future of smart home is now

Matter and Thread represent the future of smart homes by establishing a robust and interoperable framework for connected devices. Matter facilitates seamless compatibility across diverse brands, while Thread's low-power mesh networking ensures reliable communication. Together, they empower a more intuitive, efficient, and secure smart home experience for users.

What is Matter?

Matter is a universal smart home standard that ensures devices from different manufacturers communicate securely and seamlessly, regardless of brand. Matter offers local connectivity between the devices without relying on the cloud, giving you the flexibility to securely control your devices from all major platforms including Apple, Google, and Amazon, among others.

What is Thread?

Thread is a low-power, wireless mesh networking protocol purpose-built for smart homes. Thread creates a robust, self-healing network where devices communicate without relying on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or ZigBee. Thread ensures scalability, security, energy efficiency, and reliability, while seamlessly integrating with larger IP networks without needing proprietary gateways, or hubs.

Matter vs Thread

Matter and Thread work together like a common language and the road system. If Matter is the language enabling devices from different brands to communicate, ensuring devices understand each other, Thread is the road network that carries those messages between these devices over a reliable, low-power pathways, without needing Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Thread is an upgrade over ZigBee.

Adding Devices to Platform

Easily add devices to your smart home using the Hommi app, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, or other compatible platforms. These applications streamline the integration process, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient performance across your smart home ecosystem.

Add Additional Platforms

To control your Hommi's devices from another platform, you’ll need a hub for that platform. This hub only needs to support Matter (Matter Controller), as Thread is already available through your existing hub (From previous step). The devices listed below serve as Matter Controllers for their respective platforms.
